Sthitā offers structured Bharatanatyam training rooted in traditional pedagogy and sustained practice. Classes are designed to build strong fundamentals while gradually guiding students towards expressive depth and confident stage performance.
Training includes:
Adavus and body alignment
Rhythm and tala understanding
Abhinaya fundamentals
Theory and terminology
Repertoire development
Stage orientation and performance preparation
Classes are conducted in person, with online options available on request. Students may choose to attend two or three classes per week based on their learning goals and availability, totalling up-to 8 classes a month or 12 classes a month respectively.

The learning environment at Sthitā encourages discipline, consistency, and artistic curiosity, allowing students to progress steadily at their own pace.

Students at Sthitā have the option to appear for recognised Bharatanatyam examinations for formal certification. Guidance is provided throughout the preparation process, including syllabus orientation, practical readiness, and theoretical understanding.

Students are encouraged to take up examinations based on readiness and training level, ensuring that the focus remains on learning depth rather than rushed certification.

At Sthitā, yoga is imparted to one and all without any age cap for sound mind and a sound body. Yoga also forms an integral part of dancer training, supporting physical strength, flexibility, balance, and injury prevention. Classes are designed keeping the specific needs of dancers in mind.

Karanas form an essential link between sculpture, movement, and classical dance vocabulary. At Sthitā, karanas are introduced as a study of alignment, coordination, and movement principles, Guided by the knowledge of Natya sastra.
Students are guided to:
Understand the structure and intent of karanas
Explore movement transitions and flow
Develop strength, balance, and spatial awareness
Connect karanas to Bharatanatyam practice
Karanas training helps deepen a dancer’s understanding of movement aesthetics while enhancing physical control and expressiveness.
